Visit to the Museum – 16.05.2022

Yesterday we went to the museum for a class trip and we had great fun. We watched a video of photos and videos of all things to do with Shetland. We then had a mini tour of the museum where Yvonne told us lots of new information… we really liked hearing about the St Ninian’s treasure! We then had our snack before having a go at making butter! This was a lot of fun! We then got to do a viking scavenger hunt before our bus came for us. A super quick morning… that we all loved! Thanks to Yvonne and Jordan at the museum for having us! We had a super morning! When we returned to school we tried out the butter (some of us!) to see what it was like… the verdict was, “It was creamy butter!”

When we first arrived at the museusm… We were EXCITED!!!

We watched a video clip of the “olden days!”

Yvonne took us on a tour around the museum… we looked at the St Ninian’s treasure, the croft house and met Tamara the coo!!

Then we got wir snack… yum!

Then we got to make butter. Two of the bairns got selected to be the judges and monitor who came first!!

We then went on the scavenger hunt… LOTS of fun!!

After lunch we had a picnic with the P3/4/5s (who were on the trip with us) and some of us were brave enough to try the butter. The ones who tried it said it was delicious… and wanted seconds!!

A super day had by all!!

Megan’s Dad (John) Visited the Class

We were delighted to have John in today to speak about his work… the bairns (and staff) loved it!!

We got to look at real life plans, we got to see photos of some of the plans in action and we got to plan a new house for Miss Hunter (it looked very impressive but we stopped at 3 bedrooms rather than 22!!)

Thank you so much for a super afternoon!

If anyone else would like to come in then please get in touch. We would be delighted to have you.

‘Funny Golf’

What a perfect way to spend a Friday… playing ‘Funny Golf!” The bairns worked together to set up two different golf activities and moved parts around to make it more challenging! Everyone had a go… even Mr Clark and Mrs Johnson! Some impressive golfers in the making!
