A massive well done to everyone taking part in Christmas concert this week! It was fabulous!!

We have enjoyed free play time this week as we have all been working very hard rehearsing for the Christmas concert.

This week there has been lots of practice for the Christmas show – we are all very excited for you to see it next week!

We have been feeling very festive in class making Christmas cards, sleighs and wearing Santa hats.

We have all been very creative in P3 this week, drawing, building and making different things.

We have also been enjoying listening to Christmas music and doing a Christmas Just Dance.

P3 made a wreath of poppies for Armistice day. They have also been making models of poppies using clay.
They have been shown how to apply paint carefully to their clay models. They will make a small bowl from clay for Christmas.
This week in Big Question we have been learning about different joining methods. We tried to build the tallest spaghetti tower using different joining methods – marshmallows, tape and blue-tack.

We have also been super creative during free play!

This week we were learning about pollution and how the school looks after the environment.

We also had great fun identifying the character and setting from ‘The little shoemaker’.

This week we have tackled a series of design challenges and then made our designs. We have had great fun!

This week we were learning about the local landscape and had a go at drawing a map of the playground.

Our activity of the week was to build a machine that would stop the ghosts stealing all the sweeties. There was some amazing machines made!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable October holidays.
We have had a lovely 3 days in class settling back into school.
On Wednesday with Mrs Evans, we were learning all about sound and made our own telephones.

We had a guest visit our classroom this week who had a trip to the ‘tattoo parlour’.

We enjoyed designing our own pumpkins to display in the classroom.

This was week 5/5 of African Drumming with Joy. The kids have enjoyed it greatly and on Monday had the opportunity to share what they had been learning with the rest of the school.

We have been learning all about Mousa this week, and on Monday the students took on the role of ‘teacher’ and shared with the class what they knew about Mousa. I was so impressed with how much everyone knew and the confidence they had standing up and talking in front of their peers. Then, on Tuesday, Rodney from the Mousa boat came in and shared lots interesting information and photos he had about Mousa.
