Science – IDL and STEM visit

This term, P2/3 have had a fantastic time exploring dissolving and the water cycle with Mrs Gear and Mr Fraser. The children began by investigating which materials dissolve in water, then moved on to exploring how heat can melt and solidify different substances. They absolutely loved becoming real scientists and learning through hands-on experiments.

P2/3 were also thrilled to welcome the UHI STEM team for a special visit. The class took on a series of exciting Kapla building challenges—from constructing the tallest tower to designing the strongest structure, and even creating the one that made the biggest crash when it toppled over! Their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork shone through every moment.

Our Class Charter

At the start of Term 1, our class spent time thinking about what makes us feel safe, happy, and respected at school. We had some fantastic discussions and shared lots of brilliant ideas about how we can help everyone in our class feel the same way!

Together, we identified some rights that were especially important to us and thought about what we could do each day to make sure those rights are respected. Using all of our ideas, we created our very own Class Charter!

Our charter is an agreement that reminds us of the positive actions and behaviours that help make our classroom a place where everyone feels valued, ready to learn, and proud to be part of our class community.

Everyone designed their own bucket, and together we fill up our class bucket with kind words and caring actions!

Welly Wednesday

Lots of P2/3 were interested in tree climbing. As part of our outdoor learning we are encouraging children to engage in risky to help build upon their own risk assessing skills.
