Today the author of ‘Da Fisherman’s Wife’ and ‘Da Ooricks’ books came to visit Primary 1\/2.\u00a0 She read the stories to us and we spoke lots about Shetland dialect.\u00a0 Everyone in the class made a peerie wife and a ram.\u00a0 We used lots of oo (wool) to make the rams body and the wife’s hair.\u00a0 We felt peats, tried on the kishie and looked at fair isle patterns.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

BBC Radio Shetland also joined us.\u00a0 They interviewed some children about their favourite Shetland dialect words and why they like learning Shetland dialect.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 1\/2 would like to say a huge Thank-You to Ann-Maire for spending time in our class today.\u00a0 We really enjoyed your visit \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n
