Primary 1/2 have enjoyed playing Vikings with the galley today. They used the mechano to make weapons and used the tools to pretend to build the galley. There was some excellent sorting and counting going on in the maths area.

Primary 1 have been learning to add 2 number together. On Thursday they enjoyed lots of different adding challenges. They really enjoy adding 2 groups of teddy bears together and using the numicon to add numbers together.

Primary 1 have really enjoyed playing in the maths area this week! The classroom looks so messy but that’s ok, so much learning was happening! They have been busy creating their own counting games.

During free choose today everyone was inspired to play with maths and number resources. The class loved making ups their own number games with their friends.

During free play some children decided to try and build towers again using yoghurt pots. They got the measuring tape and ruler out to see who had the tallest tower.

On Friday everyone went on a shape walk. We found lots of shapes within our environment. After, P1 spent time creating patterns and pictures using lots of different shapes.
