Porridge!

To finish our project on Goldilocks and the Three Bears, we made porridge in class.  Everyone got to choose their topping and try some porridge for snack.  It was a big hit for most and we had to make more!!  Some people were “not very keen on it”.  We fed the scraps to the birds.

Exploring Outdoors

Primary 1/2 have been outside all afternoon since it has been such a lovely day!  After outdoor spelling and number work, we did the daily mile and played lots of games in the multi.  We then spent time exploring outdoors.  We looked for frogs in the pond and looked for other signs of Spring.  Everyone loves playing in the trees!

Very Berry Muffins

This morning we baked Very Berry Muffins as part of our project on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Everyone showed great baking skills.  We were reading, weighing, mixing, cutting, pouring, mashing, cracking and eating!  The muffins were a great hit with most of the class.  We enjoyed them with a drink of milk at snack time.

Imaginative Writing

We have really enjoyed learning the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Once everyone knew the story really well, we adapted parts of the original story to create our own.  Everyone worked very well in groups and came up with some great ideas.  We used photos of actions to help us with our sentence openers.

We have also been working in pairs to think of words which rhyme with ‘bear’.
