Golden Time

The sun was shining on Friday afternoon so some of the children chose to do chalk and water drawings outside! Everyone had great fun and ended up in a bit of a chalky mess! 🙂

Welcome to Term 4

Welcome to Term 4!

We hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter break.

The children were very excited to be back at school to check on the frog spawn.  They were very surprised to see the tadpoles had hatched and were swimming around happily 🙂

End of Term Tidy Up

Today the class did a fantastic job of tidying up all areas of the classroom so it’s tidy for coming back after the holidays.  A special ‘Well Done’ to the children who helped to sort out the Oxford Reading Tree books and the class library books!  The areas are now all looking very neat and tidy.  Let’s see if we can keep them tidy next term!

Happy Easter Everyone 🙂

Dinosaur Performance

Over the past 5 weeks P1/2 have been working with Andy Ross on a creative arts project about Dinosaurs.  Thursday was our last day with Andy and it was performance day.  The class invited their family and friends in to watch the performance.  The project was completely child led which allowed the class to create the story line, characters and lyrics to songs for their final performance.

The class would like to thank Andy for coming to Hamnavoe Primary School over the past 5 weeks.  The class have really enjoyed working with him.

Thanks to all families who came to watch the final performance.

Spring Festival

Today was Hamnavoe Primary School’s annual Spring Festival in the Pink Hall in Hamnavoe.  Thanks to everyone who came along to watch all the performances.  P1 read a Spring story to everyone, P2 read out acrostic poems, P3-5 retold the Easter Story and P6-7 gave a lovely instrumental performance and sang us an Easter song in French.  Everyone enjoyed Mrs Robertson’s and Mrs Moffat’s performance which made us think about forgiveness.  Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Mr Conabeer and Mr Bennet.
