This afternoon we said ‘goodbye’ to the music teacher Mr Bennet. We wish him all the best in a long and happy retirement.
We also said ‘goodbye’ to all P7 pupils who will be going to the Anderson High School after the holidays. We wish them the very best of luck! We enjoyed hearing the leavers speeches which were funny and quite emotional!
Finally we said ‘farewell’ to a family who are leaving the community to start a new adventure on the mainland.

P1/2 have had a very fun day at school today for the last day of term! We watched the film ‘The Little Rascals” in the morning then we had snack together on the carpet. After break everyone spent time playing with the toys they had brought in from home and the boys loved the train set Miss Smith took in. Some enjoyed writing a story about Dinosaurs, there was a fidget spinner club going on and some playing with technology.
Everyone has had a very relaxing day with lots of treats!

This morning everyone sat reading for ages! Even when it was time for free choose lots of children carried on reading!
I hope everyone continues to look at books in the holidays and that everyone makes a trip to the Shetland Library!

This week everyone has enjoyed looking through their Achievement Folders which are full of work from the beginning of Primary 1. We also spent time looking through all the writing the class has done over the year. We had a laugh looking back at some of the work from the start of the year! Everyone has made great progress throughout the year.

On Wednesday the whole school enjoyed a trip to a nearby beach. We walked there in the morning and only returned at home time! The weather stayed dry and some people even tried a paddle in the freezing cold sea! Thanks to the canteen ladies for taking a picnic down to the beach for us and an ice-lolly treat too. It was great to see all the children and staff enjoying themselves. There was some great team work going on to build sandcastles and dig holes.
A great day was had by all 🙂

Today has been Moving Up Day! The new P1/2 class have had a great day 🙂
We read ‘The Snail and the Whale’ and then went to the art area to make snails. Everyone enjoyed free play after.
For snack today everyone enjoyed fruit and milk.
After playtime we spent time in the library looking at books. The boys really enjoyed looking at the Lego books.
Some children made up their own number games.
Everyone managed to carry their trays on their own in the canteen. Clean plates from everyone and some even went back for more! Fish and chips for lunch and jelly and ice-cream for pudding.
We hope the new starts have a great summer break and we will see all new P1’s after the holidays!
