This afternoon we said ‘goodbye’ to the music teacher Mr Bennet. Â We wish him all the best in a long and happy retirement.
We also said ‘goodbye’ to all P7 pupils who will be going to the Anderson High School after the holidays. Â We wish them the very best of luck! Â We enjoyed hearing the leavers speeches which were funny and quite emotional!
Finally we said ‘farewell’ to a family who are leaving the community to start a new adventure on the mainland.

P1/2 have had a very fun day at school today for the last day of term! Â We watched the film ‘The Little Rascals” in the morning then we had snack together on the carpet. Â After break everyone spent time playing with the toys they had brought in from home and the boys loved the train set Miss Smith took in. Â Some enjoyed writing a story about Dinosaurs, there was a fidget spinner club going on and some playing with technology.
Everyone has had a very relaxing day with lots of treats!

This morning everyone sat reading for ages! Â Even when it was time for free choose lots of children carried on reading!
I hope everyone continues to look at books in the holidays and that everyone makes a trip to the Shetland Library!

This week everyone has enjoyed looking through their Achievement Folders which are full of work from the beginning of Primary 1. Â We also spent time looking through all the writing the class has done over the year. Â We had a laugh looking back at some of the work from the start of the year! Â Everyone has made great progress throughout the year.

On Wednesday the whole school enjoyed a trip to a nearby beach. Â We walked there in the morning and only returned at home time! Â The weather stayed dry and some people even tried a paddle in the freezing cold sea! Â Thanks to the canteen ladies for taking a picnic down to the beach for us and an ice-lolly treat too. Â It was great to see all the children and staff enjoying themselves. Â There was some great team work going on to build sandcastles and dig holes. Â
A great day was had by all 🙂

Today has been Moving Up Day!  The new P1/2 class have had a great day 🙂
We read ‘The Snail and the Whale’ and then went to the art area to make snails. Â Everyone enjoyed free play after.
For snack today everyone enjoyed fruit and milk.
After playtime we spent time in the library looking at books. Â The boys really enjoyed looking at the Lego books.
Some children made up their own number games.
Everyone managed to carry their trays on their own in the canteen. Â Clean plates from everyone and some even went back for more! Â Fish and chips for lunch and jelly and ice-cream for pudding.
We hope the new starts have a great summer break and we will see all new P1’s after the holidays!
