Our Christmas show this year was a Nativity with a modern twist. Miss Marz (the Music teacher and Angel Gabriel) is looking for the Star of the Christmas production. All of P6-7 are looking to win the part. However Stella gets it as she has realy understood the true meaning of Christmas. She then leads the cast through the Christmas Story. Each class entertained the audience with up beat song like “While Shepherd Washed their Socks by Night” and “Superstar” with all the actions.
Primary 1 and 2 were the sheep, donkeys and cows in the stable where Jesus was born. They tried not to wake baby Jesus and sang a Rock and Roll lullaby. Everyone performed so well and a great evening was had by all.
Well done everyone!

Primary 1 & 2 have had great fun playing with the Christmas playdoh. The white playdoh is very soft and sparkly. The children have been making snowmen with it. The orange playdoh is a bit rougher and smells like ginger and cinnamon! The children have been creating gingerbread families with it.

A big thank-you to everyone who made it along to our Scottish Book Week family celebration this afternoon. It was lovely to see everyone so engaged and enjoying stories. A big ‘Well Done’ to Beth who managed to read everyone in the room ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Juila Donaldson. She read so fluently and confidently. We hope you all enjoyed your afternoon and have fun at home with your new Bookbug and Read, Write, Count goodies! Thank you Scottish Book Trust, Bookbug, Read, Write, Count and Education Scotland.

After snack Primary 4 & 5 came to join us. We read ‘Mr Tiger Goes Wild’ by Peter Brown and then worked with an older ‘buddy’ to create a tiger picture. Everyone really enjoyed working with their friends to create their pictures. As everyone finished their pictures, some enjoyed spending time with their ‘buddy’ reading stories.

As part of Scottish Book Week, we invited the playgroup children to join our class for a story. We read ‘Shark in the Park on a Windy Day’ by Nick Sharrett, and ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. We then all sang ‘5 Little Monkeys’ together. After, everyone enjoyed sharing books together. What a super morning. Thank you to the playgroup for joining us.

Today we read ‘Gorilla Loves Vanilla’ by Chae Strathie. We also listened to the author reading the story to us. We love the book! After, we worked with a partner to think of different types of ice-cream different animals might like. The catch was, the animals and the flavour we chose had to rhyme! We had great fun thinking of rhyming words.

We’ve had a great start to the week with some of the class bringing in their favourite book for Show & Tell. The class have really enjoyed listening to others talking about their favourite book and we have managed to read a few in class. Look out for more Show and Tell photos later in the week.
