After doing lots of work on The Little Red Hen story, we thought it would be a great idea to make some bread!  It was very simple and straight forward as we used a bread maker.  We added bread mix which looked like flour and added water.  We had to wait a couple of hours for the bread to bake.  While we waited, we noticed the hens from the house next door had escaped and were in the playground!  We tried to get them back into their coup but failed.  When we returned to the classroom we could smell the bread!  It was a delicious smell.  We all enjoyed fresh, warm bread and practised spreading butter ourselves.
