Bears Win Girls Football Tournament After Dramatic Play Off

The S1-S3 Girls Lunchtime Football Tournament finished in thrilling fashion with a head to head playoff between the top two teams (the Bears and the Giants). In a tight game that saw both teams come close to scoring on several occasions, the Bears managed to score through the tournament’s top scorer Tahlia Leslie (6 goals in total) to earn a 1-0 win and the title.

Everyone that took part should be pleased with the high standard of play on display from week to week and the level of enthusiasm that all teams demonstrated during the competition.

 

 

 

All Stars Run the Table to Win S3/S4 Lunch Time Football Tournament

A four team S3 and S4 lunch time football tournament concluded just before the Christmas holidays. The tournament took place on Friday’s and saw a great deal of high quality play from the teams and individuals that took part. The All Stars consisting of Kingsley Ho (captain), Josh Carroll, Luca Russell, Jordan Young, Lewis Harkness and Brandon Brear were able to dominate the competition achieving an undefeated record for maximum points. Lewis Harkness was the tournaments top goal scorer with 10 goals.

All players and teams should be proud of the effort and standard of play they produced during the tournament and a special thank you to Kelvin Anderson for volunteering to referee.

Bears win S1/S2 Football League

The S1/S2 Lunch time football league came to an exciting end with the Bears (captained by Matthew Robertson) winning the title by a single point over the Broncos (captained by Brodie Hutchison).

The standard of play was excellent over the course of the tournament with multiple players standing out in every game played. All teams played with a high level of sportsmanship and competitive spirit leading to the top seven teams only being separated by five points after seven rounds of play.

The tournament’s top scorer was Ben Mayes who scored an impressive seven goals in only five games.
