“Art’s Cool” at Shetland Museum

Primary 1-7 recently had the change to visit the “Art’s Cool” exhibition in the Gadderie at the Shetland Museum & Archives in Lerwick. It was a showcase of artwork created in school by primary and secondary students in Shetland – and featured a woven tapestry made by Primary 4-7 during the last school year! We were all super-impressed and inspired by the tremendous work on show. Thank you to Ailish and Karen for showing us around!

“When we get back to school, I want to do art!”

P1-7 School Trip

On Wednesday we had our first school trip for 2 years.

We started at Scalloway Museum, where there is a lot of information about Scalloway and Shetland through from the Ice Age to present day.

Thank you to William for opening the Museum for us and all the interesting facts we learned.

We then went to the Scalloway Play Park.

We had lunch at Bridge End Community Hall. A huge thank you to the Bridge End hall committee for opening the hall and setting out the tables and chairs, a lovely warm welcome on a slightly drizzly day.

Our last visit of the day was to The Outpost, an amazing place to visit and we made lots of new friends.

Thank yo so much to Dave, Gemma and Margaret Ann for an unforgettable experience.

The day finished with a long bus journey home, but after such a good day spirits were still high

ELC School Trip 🚌🌳

ELC went on our school trip last week and it was action packed.! We first went to the Voxter Trees and the bairns loved exploring and finding all different things. Lots of risky play occurred and as you can see the bairns had big smiles on there faces. We then headed to the Brae Youth centre where we had snack and lunch at. Between snack and lunch we had a trip up the Skelladale playpark and the bairns thoroughly enjoyed the big slide. To end the day we walked down to the Lesuire CentreΒ  for a spot of Crazy Golf and soft play. The bairns loved trying something new, with many saying they would like to do it again. everyone seemed have have a wonderful day both children and staff!

Well Done to all that organised it as well!Β  πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

Rakhi bracelets

Primary 1-3 have been learning about different world religions. We watched a video about Hinduism and a special festival they celebrate called Raksha Bandhan. We made “rakhi” bracelets which are given as gifts to share between close friends. Primary 1-3 will be bringing them home today!
