On Tuesday (the first day back of Term 4) we had a visit from Eleanor Hutcheon from UHI Shetland. She came in to speak to us about electricity and circuits, which is part of our topic this term. We had met her before in Term 3 on our trip to the Newton day in Sandwick where we had already learned a little bit of what she was talking about today. We firstly spoke about how circuits work and what different components are needed to power a lightblub from a switch. Then we got to power a clock from the electrolytes in different fruits and vegetables through zinc and copper wires; and lastly we got a chance to explore circuit kits which Eleanor had brought in.<\/p>\n
