On Thursday 6th March we celebrated World Book Day.\u00a0 We started off by listening to a snippet from Mrs Smith’s favourite childhood novel and then we did a fast and furious Speed Recommendation where we had one minute each to sell our favourite books!<\/p>\n

Some pupils also spent time with Ms Stewart going through a sensory story for the, ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ book.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After playtime,\u00a0 we looked at lots of novels and picture books and spent time talking about what makes a\u00a0 good book recommendation.\u00a0 We noticed that they often use good describing words, mention themes tackled in the story and what type or genre the book is.\u00a0 We also looked at who was commonly making the recommendations and why they were a good choice.<\/p>\n

After lunch, we tried to write our own recommendations for our favourite books to be added to a class display.\u00a0 It was quite tricky to keep it short and remember that we weren’t describing the plot like in a report!<\/p>\n

This story is wonderfully enchanting, astonishingly adventurous and inspirational.\u00a0 The story will leave you in a joyful, courageous mood.\u00a0 Honor Johnstone 9 years old and fan of J.K. Rowling.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

An adventurous and funny novel.\u00a0 And it’s by the great Roald Dahl.\u00a0 By Greg Leslie Fantastic Mr Fox Fan.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

A disgusting and hilarious book about a family of Twits.\u00a0 A Roald Dahl Lover (Drewie)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

An imaginative book, fabulous for a younger audience.\u00a0 It is very exciting and adventurous.\u00a0 Elska Ritch the Enid Blyton fan.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Last week, we started to prepare our World Book Day display by drawing us looking at our favourite books and we tried to think about what our expressions would look like while we are reading!<\/p>\n
