{"id":413,"date":"2017-05-09T14:13:49","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T14:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/dunrossnessp56\/?p=413"},"modified":"2017-05-09T14:13:49","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T14:13:49","slug":"first-aid-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/dunrossnessp56\/2017\/05\/09\/first-aid-training\/","title":{"rendered":"First Aid Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday 26th April Jennifer Thomson from the Fire Service came in to teach us how \u00a0to carry out CPR if someone had stopped breathing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-414\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/dunrossnessp56\/files\/2017\/05\/IMG_1249-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We watched a DVD which showed us all the steps in what to do if we found someone lying in the ground injured or ill.<\/p>\n<p>We then practised CPR on mannequins which was really quite difficult to get right. We learned how to approach a casualty, ensuring we did not place ourself in danger. We discussed the importance of calling for help to deal with the casualty or to contact the emergency services.<\/p>\n\n<p>Towards the end of the session we were shown how to place someone in the recovery position and then practised it on each other.<\/p>\n\n<p>By the end of the afternoon we all felt more confident that we could help save a life using CPR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday 26th April Jennifer Thomson from the Fire Service came in to teach us how \u00a0to carry out CPR if someone had stopped breathing.
