Halloween Craft!

On Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed some Halloween craft activities. Here we are making fluffy cotton wool ghosts and spooky spiders as well as painting paper plates to make pumpkins and witches later on in the week.

We had already been working in our new groups to create our Halloween Critters! We have been learning about different kinds of adjectives to write character descriptions for our critters.

Another forces experiment!

Today we did another forces experiment. This was a catapult test! We had to stretch the elastic band back to 3 different distances and fire a cardboard missile! We then had to measure and record our results. This time we had to measure much longer distances and needed to plan carefully how to do this. All the groups were very good at planning what to do, sharing the equipment and ensuring it was fair and everyone got a turn.

Signalong in p2/3/4

We have been continuing to enjoy our weekly signalong sessions with Marie Lawson, learning the signing vocabulary for some new stories.  Everyone is very enthusiastic and we have learned lots of new signs as well as revising others.

Da Voar Redd Up

On Wednesday afternoon of 28th April, p2/3 enjoyed taking part in our school clean up of Boddam beach.

The weather seemed against us as it came heavy rain over lunchtime and was not looking to ease when we started again for the afternoon.  However we took the chance and by the time we had walked down to the beach the rain had stopped and it was warm and sunny!

Everyone worked hard and we collected 10 full bags of rubbish along with a good pile of items that couldn’t fit into bags!  And that was only from the cleaner end of the beach!  Still plenty more to collect.
