Today we made vegetable soup!
First we peeled and chopped the carrots
We then peeled and chopped the potatoes
Then we cut the celery
Then we cut the parsley
Then we peeled and cut the onions
Sometimes the onions make us pull funny faces!
Then we cut the courgette
Then we threw it all in a pan and cooked it
Then blended it
Then we ate our soup for snack and we even gave some to Mrs Leslie! So yum!!
Mrs Arnett brought us loads of cardboard boxes and cardboard tubes to play and build with!
We were using masking tape, cellotape and tools to join our creations together.
“Mend it we needs lots of tape”
“It needs to be fixed.”
We then started decorating our models with glue, glitter, pictures and paint whatever way we wanted!
“I’m making a valley, it’s a kind of house, today I’m making it with all my favourite things; boxes, colours and paint.”
“It’s a Miko House, we are making it super strong. Its got holes in it because its really old, it’s got super powers. I painted it, now its dry.”
We then got to build with them, hide in them and play with them!
We have gone from making, “bomb shelters” to “Candy floss machines!” and “A construction site.”
“These pipes make it really strong.”
Everyone was so busy this morning and so creative!
Both sessions of Nursery have been getting dialect singing on Wednesdays with Miss Barclay.
Miss Barclay was showing us her puppets and soft toys.
There was Berty the sheepdog who was giving us high 5’s and cuddles (which we also sang about)…
We learnt the Shetland word for each animal puppet that Miss Barclay had. There was a Dratsie, Selkie, Sheltie, Drummy Bee and a Tammie Norie. We did very well at remembering all the names.
We sang and danced to a song called the, “Laevericks song.”
We had to be flying peerie Laevericks;
Then Drummie Bees;
We also sang a song called, “Da Rabbit’s Lullaby” about a Bunny called Fluffy. We had to be so gentle and quiet with Fluffy. We had a funny joke where we had to fall asleep at the end too!
