{"id":1324,"date":"2016-08-17T11:41:32","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T11:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/dunrossness\/?page_id=1324"},"modified":"2024-05-26T13:27:50","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T13:27:50","slug":"home-school-diary-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/dunrossness\/parent-council\/home-school-diary-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Home-School Diary Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dunrossness Primary School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Guidelines on the Use of the Home-School Diary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of our partnership working between home and school we, as a staff, have developed guidelines for the use of the diaries to ensure they are used to their maximum potential.<\/p>\n<p>These guidelines are made up of a number of points you can expect from the school and a number of items we would appreciate from parents and guardians that will help us ensure we provide the best experience we can for the children and their learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teachers to include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reading pages for Primary 1-4; Older pupils may write in their own homework to encourage independence;<\/li>\n<li>Homework tasks and the dates when homework is due in;<\/li>\n<li>Anything that is out-with the usual routine of the class such as the need to bring in wellies, a trip or visit, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>General reminders for the younger children; older children may write these in themselves;<\/li>\n<li>Notification of an incident as either the victim or perpetrator;<\/li>\n<li>Praise in the form of stickers, comments, etc. will be communicated in the diary. Each teacher has a different method to do this according to the stage the children are at in the school;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Parents to include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Signature\/initials to show homework has been completed.<\/li>\n<li>Please initial all comments but keep long responses for a separate letter as the diaries have little daily space;<\/li>\n<li>Write in any appointments and where your child is going at home time if it is different to their usual arrangements;<\/li>\n<li>Contact numbers if you are going to be somewhere different, e.g. on a course for your work, so that if there is an emergency or your child suddenly becomes poorly, we can reach you promptly;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It is very important that parents check bags nightly<\/strong> as we sometimes have little notice of events and may have little turn around time for receiving permission slips, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dunrossness Primary School \u00a0Guidelines on the Use of the Home-School Diary As part of our partnership working between home and school we, as a staff, have developed guidelines for the use of the diaries to ensure they are used to their maximum potential.
