Connecting Classrooms with Lomayana Primary School

All the children in the school have been preparing photos and letters and messages to share with Lomayana School in Baringo County, Kenya . Ms Scanlan leaves on Friday evening and will arrive at Lomayana School with Joy Duncan on Monday. Jeremiah Lebene, their Deputy Head Teacher has organised lots of activities in school and the local community and everyone is looking forward to our partnership.

Leavers’ Assembly

Primary6/7 performed their Leavers’ assembly so well today and we had a super afternoon listening to and watching all the performances and videos. Well done to the P6s too.

P7s you will be missed, what a lovely bunch of young folk you are!

Don’t Go!

You have to leave but before you do,

We’d like to share this poem with you.

We’ve been together for many years,

We hope this doesn’t make you burst into tears!

So this is a poem all about you,

And we wish you good luck in whatever you do!

Lauren has always been a little bit crazy,

But when it comes to work, she is never lazy.

Swimming is just the thing for Ella,

And she swims like a speedy propeller.

Reece is an amazing athletics ace,

And in football he has so much pace.

Logan has a great imagination,

And in the STEM project we loved his creation.

At SMUHA Calum the Jarl was a great guiser,

Since P1 he has been getting wiser and wiser.

Ben has always got his nose in a book,

He loves Minecraft and is a really good cook.

Victoria has ginger hair, so bright it’s like a flare,

When she plays netball, she’s always so fair.

Kyle is brave and fearless,

But watch out, sometimes he can be a bit careless!

Shaina loves her technology and her dares,

But when it comes to dogs, she always cares.

At first glance Layla is quite quiet,

But when it comes to it she can cause a riot!

Luke loves Celtic and on his football he’s very keen,

He also loves jumping on the trampoline.

Rachel is always doing origami on the bus,

But in class she works hard and never makes a fuss.

John Magnus seems like he’s got springs in his feet,

And his drawings of cars are really quite neat.

You’re all older now and ready to fly away,

Let’s hope in your hearts we’ll always stay.

It’s been so much fun, we really don’t want to say goodbye,

It’s going to be hard for us all not to cry!

Fundraising Thanks

Thank you very much for your generosity for both Christmas Jumper Day and school funds.

We raised  £302.90 for Save the Children through wearing our Christmas Jumpers, staff Secret Santa and Christmas card donations.

Christmas card deliveries, Christmas Play photos and donations on the door raised an amazing  £1348.18 for school funds.

Thank you all very much for your continued support of the school.  We couldn’t do it without such a wonderfully supportive school community.

Merry Christmas to you all and the very best wishes for a happy and healthy 2017!

Snow White and the Seven Jockeys

Wow!  Just home from the evening performance and what a brilliant show!  Well done one and all for the hard work that went into the production.

Thanks to all the class teachers for working on their scenes in class, to Mrs Inkster for the music and singing, Mrs J Smith for the movement and dance, John for the scenery, props, lightning, sound, photos and everything else he does to make sure the shows run smoothly.  Thanks to Mrs Leslie for her hard work in producing the whole show.   I know plans are already afoot for next year’s shows!

Thanks to Izzy Swanson too for her help and support too.

When I thanked folk tonight I forgot to mention Mrs Casey and Mrs Graydon for all their hard work in making props and costumes!  Sorry!

It was wonderful to see a full house tonight!  It is great for the bairns to have such a wonderful and receptive audience to perform to.

Finally thank you to all the bairns who took part in the show.  You are all super stars.  I am so very proud of you all.  What a wonderful, talented bunch you are!

I didn’t get many photos but here are a couple of our fetching panto dames!
