5th Eco-Schools Green Flag Award

We were very proud to receive this notification today from Keep Scotland Beautiful – Eco-Schools Scotland.
Dear Staff, Pupils and Parents.
Eco-Schools Scotland – Eco-Schools Green Flag Award status
I am delighted to confirm that your school has successfully renewed Eco-Schools Green Flag Award status. This is an outstanding achievement, so please pass on our congratulations to everyone involved.
Interim Assessment Report
Well done to everyone at Dunrossness Primary for a great whole-school effort in renewing your Green Flag status. You have all been working hard to develop your grounds as a marvellous resource for learning and recreation and a haven for wildlife, and Eco is thoroughly integrated into the curriculum and calendar via your John Muir and Crofting Connections’ activities and events such as Fruity Friday and your School Grounds’ Action Day. You have established good links with groups such as the RSPB and the Shetland Amenity Trust, sharing good practice with other schools locally and celebrating your successes with the wider community via your blogs and the local press and radio. You are to be warmly commended for your participation in the Voar Redd Up, your awareness-raising of Fairtrade and the super link you have established with your partner school in Kenya. Your young people are truly responsible global citizens and I hope you enjoy exploring the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as part of your future Eco work. Congratulations on a great effort!
