Boddam Beach

On the 25th of May Julia an artist and Jane from Dunna Chuck Bruck came to visit our school to study about litter on our local beach. When they arrived we went down to Boddam Beach were they had set out 4 crime scenes. We got jobs before we left such as a finds recorder, forensic assistant, photographer, detective and sergeant. Then we got split into 4 groups . we picked up all the litter then came back to school to investigate the litter that we found. After lunch we made evidence sheets about an item that we found in our groups. We researched who was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and their  address .T hen we chose if we wanted to send a letter, email, Facebook or a tweet  to get their attention. Once we finished we made evidence bags to send to the companies who made the product to suggest they could put a larger recycling sign on their items and make them more biodegradable and safer.

We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed it (except the weather).

  1. What a fantastic activity this was. It made us all think about the waste materials that get thrown away. I can’t wait to see the responses that come back from your letters.
