The bairns often use the mat as a stage for dancing but this week they were interested in jumping.  We looked out our trusty roll of masking tape and made a hopscotch grid.  The bairns have tested out different ways of jumping through the numbers, who can jump really fast and taking turns in the queue.

We continued our Jumpstart January with ballet, Simon Says,  balance bikes and circuits.  The bairns noticed their heart rates increasing with every move and many needed to grab their water bottle after exercising “I’m thirsty after dat!”.

Following holiday role play initiated by the bairns, a plane was set up in the nursery heading to exotic locations such as Aberdeen, Dundee and Tenerife!  The bairns packed their suitcases and got their holiday attire ready.  When they were ready to board the flight, the attendant made sure to stamp everyone’s passports and check their tickets.  We also watched the process of boarding a real flight and saw the plane flying through the clouds.
