Early Years 2025-26 Term 3 Week 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Viking Butter, Bread and Runes (Friday-Thursday)<\/p>\n<p>The bairns are still very interested in Vikings and we discussed things that happened during the Viking Age.\u00a0 The bairns learned that there were no shops to buy food or other items and that the Vikings had to trade for the things they wanted.\u00a0 The bairns wondered how they would make bread and butter.\u00a0 We added cream to a bucket just like the Vikings.\u00a0 Then the bairns shook the bucket, taking turns and checking to see the progress.\u00a0 The next day the bairns following a Viking bread recipe, measuring out the ingredients and kneading the dough.\u00a0 The recipe is available at this link &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/rainydaymum.co.uk\/viking-bread-recipe\/\">Viking Bread Recipe for Kids to Cook<\/a>.\u00a0 Many of the bairns explored Viking runes by finding the letters of their name and writing them out.\u00a0 They noticed the straight lines of the runes.\u00a0 &#8220;Dat one goes doon like yun.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-581 gallery-columns-3 effect, colour mixing and expressive arts while creating Valentine&#8217;s monsters for the people they love.\u00a0 They folded a piece of paper in half, added paint to the centre and then squished the two sides together.\u00a0 When they peeled the paper apart, their monster&#8217;s body was created.\u00a0 They added eyes and feet using stickers and a black marker.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-5'
