In grammar, we learned about <strong data-start=\"153\" data-end=\"173\">commas in a list<\/strong>. To make our learning memorable, we designed some very unusual pizzas! The children created lists of ingredients for both their favourite pizzas and some truly disgusting combinations, practising how to separate items correctly using commas and <em data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"424\">and<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"427\" data-end=\"601\">This week also marked the <strong data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"498\">final chapter of our Magical Door journey<\/strong>. We entered <strong data-start=\"511\" data-end=\"528\">Promise World<\/strong>, linking our learning to <strong data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"600\">Global Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"931\">The children wrote conversations between themselves and the <strong data-start=\"663\" data-end=\"685\">Keeper of the Door<\/strong>, who explained why the Magical Door must now leave. In response, the children reflected on everything they had learned from the different worlds they had visited throughout the year and considered how these lessons might help them in the future.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"1129\">To conclude our journey, each child wrote a <strong data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1005\">Planet Protector Promise<\/strong>, explaining what they have learned through our Global Goals work and what actions they will take to help protect our world.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1134\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"beia4a\" data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1148\">\ud83d\udd22 Maths<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1149\" data-end=\"1285\">This week, we continued developing our understanding of <strong data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1213\">time<\/strong> and explored how numbers change when <strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1284\">dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1287\" data-end=\"1418\">We also continued our work on <strong data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1325\">area<\/strong>, helping the children build confidence in measuring and calculating the space inside shapes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1755\">One of the highlights of the week was our <strong data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1490\">Maths Whodunit Challenge<\/strong>. The children became maths detectives, using their skills and reasoning to solve a series of mysteries, including <strong data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1627\">The Missing Pencil<\/strong>,and <strong data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1683\">The Missing Chocolates.<\/strong>\u00a0This was a fantastic way to apply maths in a fun and engaging context. \u00a0Would you believe that they discovered it was Mrs Teale who had stolen the chocolate!!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1757\" data-end=\"1887\">We also completed some maths assessments, giving the children an opportunity to demonstrate the progress they have made this term.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1892\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"19awhpw\" data-start=\"1894\" data-end=\"1928\">\ud83c\udf0d Topic \u2013 Building a Business<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1929\" data-end=\"2064\">Our caf\u00e9 enterprise project continued this week as we worked alongside <strong data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2015\">Primary 1\/2<\/strong> to create decorations and displays for our caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2334\">We also explored the importance of <strong data-start=\"2101\" data-end=\"2121\">risk assessments<\/strong>, discussing potential hazards and how businesses can identify and reduce risks to keep both staff and customers safe. This helped the children understand another important aspect of running a successful business.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2339\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1eou5xm\" data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2371\">\ud83d\udcbb ICT and Global Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2517\">As part of our World Cup learning, the children selected one of their countries from our classroom sweepstake and carried out their own research.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2574\">Using their digital research skills, they investigated:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2672\">\n<li data-section-id=\"170omdz\" data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2582\">Flags<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"x3lnhf\" data-start=\"2583\" data-end=\"2595\">Population<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1bcv7u1\" data-start=\"2596\" data-end=\"2607\">Languages<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ttsh6\" data-start=\"2608\" data-end=\"2632\">Culture and traditions<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"7bu6qy\" data-start=\"2633\" data-end=\"2672\">Interesting facts about their country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2674\" data-end=\"2816\">This provided a valuable opportunity to develop research skills while broadening our understanding of countries and cultures around the world.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2818\" data-end=\"2821\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"tgx6is\" data-start=\"2823\" data-end=\"2848\">\ud83c\udf0e World Cup Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2849\" data-end=\"3085\">We have continued to enjoy our daily World Cup activities, reading stories from different countries, learning about capitals and cultures, locating countries on our world map, and tracking tournament results on our classroom wall chart.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3087\" data-end=\"3232\">The children have shown great enthusiasm for learning about the wider world and making connections between geography, culture and current events.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3234\" data-end=\"3237\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1cbsev0\" data-start=\"3239\" data-end=\"3260\">\ud83c\udf1f Wider Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3261\" data-end=\"3402\">On Friday, we enjoyed <strong data-start=\"3283\" data-end=\"3298\">Move Up Day<\/strong>, giving the children the opportunity to meet their new teachers and spend time in their new classrooms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3404\" data-end=\"3610\">This was an exciting experience and helped everyone begin preparing for the transition into the next school year.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3612\" data-end=\"3615\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"3617\" data-end=\"3928\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As we reach the end of our Magical Door journey, it has been wonderful to reflect on everything the children have learned this year. From Vikings to caf\u00e9s, oceans to future worlds, and Global Goals to enterprise projects, the children have shown creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm every step of the way.<\/p>\n<div
