The children took part in a fun <strong data-start=\"355\" data-end=\"385\">animal mix-up art activity<\/strong>, where they created their own imaginary animals using parts from different creatures \u2014 from giraffe heads to mermaid tails!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"759\">They then wrote a detailed <strong data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"553\">fact file<\/strong> about their new animal, including where it lives, what it looks like, what it eats, and whether it has any special powers. It was fantastic to see their creativity and descriptive writing skills develop.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"1035\">We also explored <strong data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"803\">opinion and reasoning<\/strong> in writing. The children were asked: <em data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"899\">\u201cWould you rather be your animal or Mrs Teale\u2019s animal?\u201d<\/em> They had to clearly state their opinion and give reasons to support their answer, developing their ability to justify their thinking.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1037\" data-end=\"1040\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1mheiwq\" data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1056\">\ud83d\udd22 Maths<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1124\">In maths this week, we focused on consolidating our learning. We:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1302\">\n<li data-section-id=\"d1egw8\" data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1166\">\n<p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1166\">Continued practising <strong data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1164\">times tables<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1clbogk\" data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1201\">\n<p data-start=\"1169\" data-end=\"1201\">Completed some <strong data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1199\">assessments<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1307\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1uauiq8\" data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1338\">\ud83c\udfad Assembly Preparation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"304\">We performed our <strong data-start=\"138\" data-end=\"168\">Maths Spectacular Assembly<\/strong> today and it all went <strong data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"210\">amazingly well!<\/strong> The children showed fantastic confidence and teamwork, and we are incredibly proud of them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"306\" data-end=\"392\">Throughout the week, we focused on developing key <strong data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"378\">performance skills<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"393\" data-end=\"616\">\n<li data-section-id=\"gg0j6q\" data-start=\"393\" data-end=\"467\">\n<p data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"467\">Bringing the performance to life through <strong data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"465\">expression and confidence<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"s0foxk\" data-start=\"468\" data-end=\"499\">\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"499\">Using <strong data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"497\">props effectively<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1s31gyk\" data-start=\"500\" data-end=\"552\">\n<p data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"552\">Understanding how <strong data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"550\">music enhances performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1bhl5mr\" data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"616\">\n<p data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"616\">Learning about <strong data-start=\"570\" data-end=\"591\">stage positioning<\/strong> and each person\u2019s role<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"756\">It was wonderful to see all of their hard work come together. A <strong data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"713\">video link will be sent out<\/strong> so you can enjoy the performance too!<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1825\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"tfdv2h\" data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1850\">\ud83c\udfca Wider Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1851\" data-end=\"2010\">We enjoyed another <strong data-start=\"1870\" data-end=\"1890\">swimming session<\/strong> this week, with just one week left to go. The children continue to show great enthusiasm and confidence in the water.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2012\" data-end=\"2015\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"10dm1hd\" data-start=\"2017\" data-end=\"2052\">\ud83c\udf0d Topic \u2013 People Who Help Us<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2122\">This week we had several exciting <strong data-start=\"2087\" data-end=\"2099\">visitors<\/strong> linked to our topic.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2390\">We learned about <strong data-start=\"2141\" data-end=\"2162\">germs and hygiene<\/strong> with a visit from <strong data-start=\"2181\" data-end=\"2205\">Environmental Health<\/strong>. The children used special <strong data-start=\"2233\" data-end=\"2262\">Glow Bug handwashing kits<\/strong> to see which areas they had missed when washing their hands, helping them understand the importance of effective handwashing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2392\" data-end=\"2580\">We also welcomed <strong data-start=\"2409\" data-end=\"2423\">paramedics<\/strong>, who spoke about their role and what their job involves. The children asked thoughtful and interesting questions, showing great engagement with the topic.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2582\" data-end=\"2733\">Our <strong data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2611\">class roadmap display<\/strong> is now up on the wall, showcasing the different emergency services and the important roles they play in helping others.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2735\" data-end=\"2738\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"kfc3qh\" data-start=\"2740\" data-end=\"2762\">\ud83e\uddea STEM Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2878\">As part of <strong data-start=\"2774\" data-end=\"2794\">St Patrick\u2019s Day<\/strong>, we took part in a STEM challenge based on the story <em data-start=\"2848\" data-end=\"2875\">How to Catch a Leprechaun<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2880\" data-end=\"2992\">Working in small groups, the children designed and built their own <strong data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"2967\">leprechaun traps<\/strong>, developing skills in:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2993\" data-end=\"3108\">\n<li data-section-id=\"jh9qh4\" data-start=\"2993\" data-end=\"3016\">\n<p data-start=\"2995\" data-end=\"3016\"><strong data-start=\"2995\" data-end=\"3014\">Problem-solving<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wh0pnj\" data-start=\"3017\" data-end=\"3051\">\n<p data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3051\"><strong data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3049\">Teamwork and communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"156k04o\" data-start=\"3052\" data-end=\"3082\">\n<p data-start=\"3054\" data-end=\"3082\"><strong data-start=\"3054\" data-end=\"3080\">Measuring and building<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"w4evur\" data-start=\"3083\" data-end=\"3108\">\n<p data-start=\"3085\" data-end=\"3108\"><strong data-start=\"3085\" data-end=\"3106\">Creative thinking<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"3110\" data-end=\"3113\" \/>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"7ihvn4\" data-start=\"3115\" data-end=\"3137\">\ud83c\udfa8 Play Projects<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3138\" data-end=\"3265\">Our play project this week, led by <strong data-start=\"3173\" data-end=\"3188\">Miss Farmer<\/strong>, was based on the <strong data-start=\"3207\" data-end=\"3221\">rainforest<\/strong>, linking to our <em data-start=\"3238\" data-end=\"3253\">Monkey Puzzle<\/em> learning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3267\" data-end=\"3320\">The children showed fantastic creativity, building:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3321\" data-end=\"3424\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17h11wi\" data-start=\"3321\" data-end=\"3354\">\n<p data-start=\"3323\" data-end=\"3354\">Rainforest homes and habitats<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"34hwkm\" data-start=\"3355\" data-end=\"3394\">\n<p data-start=\"3357\" data-end=\"3394\">Digital creations and presentations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"k2idp0\" data-start=\"3395\" data-end=\"3424\">\n<p data-start=\"3397\" data-end=\"3424\">Large construction models<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3426\" data-end=\"3645\">One particularly impressive creation was a <strong data-start=\"3469\" data-end=\"3519\">forest scene complete with a flowing waterfall<\/strong>.
