Inside the Explorer\u2019s Bag we discovered a bundle of <strong data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"474\">bright, colourful feathers<\/strong>, which inspired some fantastic creative writing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"527\" data-end=\"750\">The children wrote their own <strong data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"575\">fantasy stories<\/strong> about what the magical feathers could <strong data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"637\">transform them into<\/strong> or what <strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"664\">special powers<\/strong> they might give them. The imagination, vocabulary, and storytelling were brilliant!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"873\">We also wrote exciting stories about being a <strong data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"813\">spy in India<\/strong>, creating missions, disguises, and top-secret adventures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"898\">In literacy, we also:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"1131\">\n<li data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"942\">\n<p data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"942\">Learned the <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"928\">\u201cear\u201d sound<\/strong> in spelling<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"1024\">\n<p data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"1024\">Continued developing our <strong data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1022\">independent reading time and comprehension tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1136\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1151\">\ud83d\udd22 Maths<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1152\" data-end=\"1291\">In maths, we continued our work on <strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1225\">addition using the chunking method<\/strong>, becoming more confident at breaking numbers into useful parts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1377\">We also practised our <strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1345\">times tables with Mrs Rose<\/strong>, building speed and accuracy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1619\">To revisit data handling, we explored <strong data-start=\"1417\" data-end=\"1429\">graphing<\/strong> again \u2014 this time using <strong data-start=\"1454\" data-end=\"1476\">Mrs Teale\u2019s sweets<\/strong> to create our own graphs completely from scratch! The children sorted, counted, presented, and interpreted their data with great enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1624\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1657\">\ud83c\udf0d Topic \u2013 Forces &amp; Energy<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1691\">Our big question this week was:<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1759\"><strong data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1757\">\u201cWhy do magnets sometimes pull and sometimes push apart?\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1909\">We- discussed magnets and how they are used in everyday life and we\u00a0 carried out hands-on investigations to explore:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"2082\">\n<li data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1937\">\n<p data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1937\">How magnets <strong data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1935\">attract<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1938\" data-end=\"1960\">\n<p data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"1960\">How they <strong data-start=\"1949\" data-end=\"1958\">repel<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"2001\">\n<p data-start=\"1963\" data-end=\"2001\">Which materials magnets work through<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2082\">\n<p data-start=\"2004\" data-end=\"2082\">How the <strong data-start=\"2012\" data-end=\"2021\">poles<\/strong> of magnets affect whether they pull together or push apart<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2214\">The children loved experimenting, testing predictions, and exploring \u201cwhat happens if\u2026?\u201d with a wide range of magnet challenges.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2219\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2221\" data-end=\"2247\">\ud83d\udc96 Health &amp; Wellbeing<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2248\" data-end=\"2461\">This week we learned about <strong data-start=\"2275\" data-end=\"2324\">UNCRC Article 31 \u2013 the right to rest and play<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2325\" data-end=\"2328\" \/>We explored what rest and play look like in <strong data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2389\">our own lives<\/strong>, why they are important, and how they help us stay healthy and happy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2463\" data-end=\"2612\">As part of this focus, we enjoyed a calming <strong data-start=\"2507\" data-end=\"2550\">Cosmic Kids yoga session \u2013 Betsy Banana<\/strong>, helping us practise mindfulness, movement, and relaxation.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2614\" data-end=\"2617\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"2619\" data-end=\"2646\">\ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2642\ufe0f PE \u2013 Teacher-Led<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2647\" data-end=\"2863\">In PE we began with some body drumming before moving on to use our pool noodles to drum and rock out!!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2865\" data-end=\"3002\">We finished with a range of <strong data-start=\"2893\" data-end=\"2912\">parachute games<\/strong>, practising teamwork, timing, and communication \u2014 and having lots of fun along the way!<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3004\" data-end=\"3007\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"3009\" data-end=\"3027\">\ud83c\udf84 Other News<\/h2>\n<ul data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3375\">\n<li data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3158\">\n<p data-start=\"3030\" data-end=\"3158\">The <strong data-start=\"3034\" data-end=\"3053\">Gingerbread Men<\/strong> made another visit to our classroom! They decorated our door and left some fun treats for us to enjoy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3159\" data-end=\"3265\">\n<p data-start=\"3161\" data-end=\"3265\">We are continuing to practise <strong data-start=\"3191\" data-end=\"3227\">very hard for the Christmas play<\/strong>, learning lines, songs, and moves.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3266\" data-end=\"3375\">\n<p data-start=\"3268\" data-end=\"3375\">We also started making some <strong data-start=\"3296\" data-end=\"3316\">Christmas crafts<\/strong>, which will be appearing around the classroom very
