Monster Kickabout (Wk 8 Monday-Wednesday)
The Primary 7 bairns held another Monster Kickabout and took the nursery bairns to the multicourt for coaching sessions focusing on football skills. They played games like Duck Duck Goose, Simon Says and Ship Shore Sea. The bairns had a turn at dribbling and a penalty shoot-out. They made a circle and practiced passing the ball to each other. The bairns also submitted their medal colouring in sheets.
Sports Day (Wk 8 Thursday)
It was great to see so many families join us for Sports Day. The bairns gave it their all and had fun too. No doubt a few budding sports stars in the making.
Leavers’ Assembly (Wk 8 Friday)
The bairns decorated plates as bees for the backdrop for the Leavers’ Assembly and added messages for Father’s Day as a peerie surprise. Everybody did a splendid job on the day, singing and playing their kazoos. We are all super proud of our peerie superstars heading off to Primary 1 after the holidays.
Stay and Play (Wk 8 Friday)
Well done to everyone for finding so many bees during the stay and play. It was great to catch up with our nursery families that were able to make it along.
Outdoor Play (Wks 8 & 9)
The bairns have been experimenting with different ways to slide down the steep hill in the garden. They have used cardboard, cushions, carpet tiles and slithery breeks! We have also seen lots of engagement with water play and managed to get the solar fountain working as the sun made a bit of a reappearance. We headed to the playpark one afternoon too and the bairns played chasing games, spun on the swings, tried to walk up the slide and got wobbly as jelly on a plate.
Bee Hunt Count (Wk 9 Monday)
The suspense is over! Out of the 150 bees that were hidden all around the setting, there were 131 that were found during the stay and play. We have found a few since but there are still some that have stayed hidden. The bairns took turns counting out their bees and adding their number to the tally.
Preschooler Lunch (Wk 9 Thursday)
We hope you all enjoyed your lunch in the dining hall this week. The preschoolers were excited to show their grown-ups all the routines that they had been learning on their transition visits.
Wir Ain Peerie Bodies (Wk 9 Monday-Wednesday)
We started Wir Ain Peerie Bodies this week. We have read several books which cover the differences and similarities between male and female bodies, our feelings, what to do if someone tries to touch us under our pants and who we can speak to if something makes us uncomfortable. We drew around a boy and a girl to create a male and a female body. The bairns then named all the body parts, remembering what they had learned from the books. The bairns decorated pants to protect their privacy and we will revisit this again next week.
Moving Up Day (Wk 9 Friday)
The preschoolers had a longer session in Primary 1 for Moving Up Day. They met up with their classmates, explored the resources and completed a colouring-in task.
