Hello! It’s Smithy and Cheryl here who have the POWER of the Amazing, Wonderful, Epic Blog!<\/p>\n

Shetland Sangwriting Workshop.\u00a0<\/strong>Claire came in for the morning and we got to hear her play the fiddle and learn we learned about Betty Mouat. We got to dance a Boston Two Step and also wrote our own poems or songs and performed them. There was lots of creativity and original ideas shared.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Brilliant Beetles.<\/strong> For writing this week we focused on Beetles. We found out that there are 400,000 species of beetles world wide and each created a fact file about a different beetle. Have a look at the epic posters below.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

World of Work 1.<\/strong> Andrew, Esther and Rebekah’s dad, came in to speak to us on Wednesday. We learned all about different types of engineers and the skills and qualities they need. We also had a lot of fun designing bridges out of one sheet of paper. Nobody thought the hammock bridge would work but it actually did.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Sustainable Squad.<\/strong> We all had a lot of fun making bird feeders out of different junk modeling resources. We’re hopeful that the birds enjoy our new bird feeders.<\/p>\n

World of Work 2<\/strong>. On Friday, John and Reece came in to speak to us about their work. We got to solve different problems and all got quite competitive. We even got a chance to use some of the specialist equipment that they brought in to measure the height difference in the playground.<\/p>\n
