AHS transition
Transition events have started for our Primary 7s. This week they got to meet their new Depute Head Teacher and have a tour of the school. The firm favourites were the Science, Home Ec and CDT classrooms!

Claire White visited us this week. She taught us about some Shetland tales, played her fiddle and we created our own stories. We even managed a Boston-Two-Step!
Skills Academy Scotland
We had a visit to the Scalloway Youth Centre where a STEM event was delivered. We learned lots about types of energy, testing batteries and making circuits.
At the movies!
Magnie and Nicol, Frankie and Niamh created some sketches for the class to watch today. Erland O, Vaila and Magnus helped with the setting up. Well done to all involved and shower a super imagination!
Da Voar Redd Up
Over the past few weeks, the children have been going around the roads of Nesting to take part in the Voar Redd Up. It’s been a super team effort. Today, the whole school went to Eswick Beach. Well done to the staff and children for collecting so much bruck to make our community cleaner!
Drawing Club
Each Tuesday, the children take part in drawing club. This is a step-by-step drawing tutorials or may be free drawing. We have themes and it varies between realistic and cartoon. The skills developed are vast: creativity; exploring imagination; fine motor skills; improved self-esteem; following instructions and developing focus to name a few.
