Shetland Islands Council is reminding parents and carers about registration week for early learning and childcare, and primary one school enrolment.<\/p>\n
Registration week for early learning and childcare runs from Friday 13th\u00a0February\u00a0until 6pm on Friday 20th\u00a0February. \u00a0\u00a0Parents and carers of children born between 1st March 2023 and 29th February 2024, should register for an early learning and childcare place during registration week. \u00a0Places are also available for eligible two year olds.\u00a0 Registration forms will be available online from the morning Friday 13th February at www.shetland.gov.uk\/elc<\/a><\/p>\n Parents and carers of children already accessing a funded place do not need to register again.<\/p>\n Enrolment into primary one runs from Monday 16th February until Friday 20th February.\u00a0 Parents and carers of children starting primary one after the summer holidays, should complete an online enrolment form. Forms will be available from the morning of Monday 16th February at www.shetland.gov.uk\/schools\/<\/a><\/p>\n Parents and carers who wish to make a placing request for a school outwith their catchment area, should complete an online enrolment form for the school that they would like their child to attend, as well as a placing request form.<\/p>\n Parents and carers of children who have not yet turned five by 19th August 2026 may choose to defer the entry of their child into primary one. \u00a0A deferred entry form should be completed, available at www.shetland.gov.uk\/schools\/<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 The deadline for placing requests and deferred entry requests is 15th March 2026.<\/p>\n Any parents or carers with any queries can contact either their preferred school or early learning and childcare setting, or contact Children\u2019s Services at Hayfield House on 01595 744074.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Shetland Islands Council is reminding parents and carers about registration week for early learning and childcare, and primary one school enrolment.
