P2N maths

P2N have been exploring area.  We used different objects from around the classroom to measure the area of our tables.  We decided that objects which fit together and that are the same size are much better for measuring, as there are no gaps between shapes.

A busy time outdoors!

Primary 2s have been very busy outdoors this week! On Tuesday we travelled up to Sandness, with Primary 2n, to Transition Turriefield where we got to see lots of different plants and vegtables growing.   We also got to see ducks, ducklings and horses! We then planted some mixed salad and handled worms! We had a great day all round!

Today we were very excited to release our butterflies in Mrs Evans’s garden! We thought it would be a good idea to place them on flowers, so that there is nectar ready for them! We have had great fun watching our caterpillars go through their lifecycle these past few weeks.

Healthy P2s

Last week Primary 2s were focussing on healthy and unhealthy food as part of our topic: Keeping Happy, Healthy and Safe.  We made fruit kebabs – a very healthy snack! We had good fun cutting up all the fruit, although we had to make sure we were using the knife safely and that our hands were clean.
