Well that’s us all safely on the boat heading home after four fun filled days!
Yesterday afternoon we spent the afternoon at the Museum of Flight – learning all about different aircrafts and carrying out a number of different interactive activities.
Today, everyone has enjoyed spending the rest of their money. Primark was a big hit!
Today began with a great walk to the Edinburgh Castle. It has stayed nice and dry for us all day. We enjoyed a walk around the castle before heading to Camera Obscura, where we had lots of fun!
After lunch we set off for Laser Quest, where everyone showed their competitive side. Mr Sandison was the winner!
We ate in Mr Basari’s, probably over indulging again! The more competitive games at Ten Pin Bowling. It was lovely to watch everyone having so much fun 🙂
After a quick shot at the amusements we headed back to the Hostel for a wash and an early bed before a 0700 start tomorrow.
Monday 10 June was a busy day. After arriving safely in Aberdeen we headed for Blair Drummond. We enjoyed beautiful sunshine while the pupils had fun playing and viewing the different animals.
After the sea lion show and a quick bite to eat we headed for the Birds of Prey Show. Unfortunately this was cut short due to rain and the ray did not seem to want to stop!
We arrived safely at the hostel and after settling in we headed to Cosmos for a huge feed!!
We rounded off our night with a walk to the top of Carlton Hill.
All our young people have had a great night’s sleep and are now all set for day 2

35 Primary 7 pupils set sail last night for Aberdeen. After a very calm crossing they have arrived safely in Aberdeen and are now enroute to Blair Drummond Safari Park.
Congratulations to all our County Sports Team who all performed very well at Wednesday’s, wet, cold and miserable County Sports. Despite the weather conditions they demonstrated great determination and resilience and competed well in all their events. Very big well done to them all!

We’ve been very busy this term. Our topics have been “Materials “ and “Houses and Homes.”
We have investigated the properties of various materials.
Our museum visit focussed on materials people used in the past and we made our own clay pot. We had a super time.
We have been working with numbers to 100, learning addition and subtraction strategies, time and measurement.
and learning about verbs, adjectives, nouns and alphabetical order.
This term pupils in P4n and P4s have been learning all about Fishing. They have been lucky enough to tour a pelagic fishing boat the ‘Antarctic ll’ and had a visit from Frankie’s Fish and Chip shop to help them understand the journey of fish from the sea to their plate and making them aware of the richness around our island.
With excellent support from Izzy Swanson the pupils brought their topic to life with a special play, which they performed to their parents/carers last week.
‘One from the Sea, Three from the Land’ was written especially for the class by Izzy Swanson and brings together stories of old folklore and dialect singing.
