Nursery Closure Thursday 21st December

Due to the forecast tomorrow (21st December) the nursery will be closed, information has been emailed out to parents this afternoon.

We thought that everyone will be busy with preparations for Christmas however if you’d like a break from all things festive we’ve attached a couple of online resources that you could enjoy with your child.

Nursery Rhymes and Songs – BBC Teach

This lovely resource, available through the BBC Teach website, has a great variety of songs and rhymes for you to share with your child.

There is also a link below for a game the children love to play that involves counting and recognising numbers that you might like to try if you are stuck indoors due to the high winds.

Learn to Count up to 10 with Underwater Counting Maths Game (topmarks.co.uk)

We hope to see you back on Friday for the end of Term.

Christmas Lunch

We had our Christmas lunch today at nursery.  There was lots of different things to try like brussel sprouts, carrots, turnips, stuffing, sausages, tatties and gravy! And for pudding we had sticky toffee pudding, ice-cream and jelly.  It was delicious.

Sensory Art Play

We got very creative this morning with our sensory tray of coloured rice.  We made patterns and pictures, adding different colours as we went to make each picture different.

Gym Hall Activities

On Wednesday we went to take part in activities in the school gym hall.

The first game we played to get warmed up was ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’.  We practised the rhyme and we got to be Hickory Dickory and run up the hall to the clock face and back down again.

We ran really fast!

When we were nice and warm we took part in an obstacle course.

To help us explore different movement skills we walked across the beam, taking care not to fall off, then jumped off the end and landed on both feet.  We zig zagged through the cones changing direction at each cone then hopped on one leg over the ladder.  To come back down the hall we had to tip toe walk half way then walk on our heels to finish up at the end.

We listened really well to the instructions.
