This week we started participating in the daily mile along with the rest of the school.
The aim of The Daily Mile is simple – we want to get children fit for life and fit for learning by encouraging them to run for 15 minutes every day in their schools or nurseries. Former headteacher Elaine Wyllie founded The Daily Mile to tackle the lack of fitness displayed by the children in her school.
Primary 4/5 had eggs to hatch in an incubator. Miss Smith let us come and see them. The incubator keeps the eggs warm like a sitting mother hen would do.
We have been doing self portraits as part of the school enterprise project to make BJHS tea towels. Some of the children wanted to put their ones up for all to see.
The whole school held “Roald Dahl day”, to celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday, where children were encouraged to dress as characters or wear yellow (his favourite colour).
