We harvested our apples and totties out of the poly tunnel to make soup and apple crumble for our families to come and have lunch with us. The S4 hospitality students helped us make the lunch in the Home Economics room.
We did this to raise money for our fund towards buying new Nursery Bikes. We also made a donation to SENSE, the charity for deaf/blind children.
We made planet pizzas – one for each planet on our solar system – and chose toppings for each f them that showed what they were like, eg tomato sauce and red pepper for “The Red Planet” Mars.
Making new Rockets for our “Wish On A Star” display. Children and parents are encouraged to work on targets at home.
Children can now move their rocket along the numbers as they get closer to completing their target.
This week we started participating in the daily mile along with the rest of the school.
The aim of The Daily Mile is simple – we want to get children fit for life and fit for learning by encouraging them to run for 15 minutes every day in their schools or nurseries. Former headteacher Elaine Wyllie founded The Daily Mile to tackle the lack of fitness displayed by the children in her school.

Our kids enjoy getting outside whatever the weather
Emma asked if we could get Astronaut food as her big brother had it when he was in Nursery.
As part of our space topic we ate Astronaut Ice cream, Its real Neapolitan ice cream specially freeze dried to get rid of the water and make it lighter to transport into space.
“it tastes like real ice cream”
“I like the Strawberry best”
We have had a very busy start to the term focusing on space. We have been finding out facts about different planets and answering children’s questions.
“Which planet is hottest?” “Venus, cos its near the Sun”
We have been practising some space songs and reading Space stories from the library.
We have been making a Learning Journey Bus.
We will be adding achievements and next steps onto each of our pictures as the year goes on.
Mrs Kennerley asked the children to tell us what they enjoyed most this year at nursery.
As you can see they enjoyed a LOT of different activities.
Congratulations to our 2016/17 Graduates
Good Luck in primary 1
