After many weeks of rehearsal, a cast of 10 hardy Anderson High pupils (with an additional 3 pupils taking on stage management and wardrobe duties) took to the “stage” (aka the steps between upper and lower dining) to give two stunning performances of this well-loved musical. A full audience on both evenings were dazzled by their abilities and donated a handsome sum to school funds in return for the entertainment they received.
Plans are already afoot to follow up this success with another school musical next year….watch this space!

The S2 Wider Achievement “Handicrafts for Happiness” group spent some time recently decorating stones. Last Friday they took a walk around Clickimin loch to hide them.

Please look out for them and if you are lucky enough to find one, take a photo and post it on the “Shetland Rocks” Facebook page then re-hide the stone for someone else to find.

The Music Department were very fortunate on Friday 28 April 2023 to be able to host a workshop given by former pupil, and current Young Trad Musician of the Year, Amy Laurenson.

Music pupils were guided through the way Amy approaches arranging traditional tunes to give them a fresh, innovative sound.

Thank you to Amy for inspiring the next generation of musicians, and to Shetland Folk Festival and Noelle Henderson, Creative Links Officer, for their help in organising the workshop.
