One period is spent on practical craft, the spent on drawing\/technology.<\/p>\n<h3>Practical Craft<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Woodwork Unit 3<\/strong><br \/>\nIn this unit the pupils will make a product which incorporates a housing joint. Pupils will alter the basic shape to their own design. The importance of safety in the workshop and when using machines is stressed to the pupils.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metalwork Unit 2\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis model will cover bending, shaping and joining of mild steel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Woodwork Unit 4\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nA small box will be constructed using lap joins. Pupils will design their own box from this basic shape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Drawing\/Technology<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Drawing Unit 3\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nOrthographic and Isometric drawing using instruments. Pupils produce plan and elevations of blocks and everyday objects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology Unit 2<\/strong><br \/>\nBasic Electronic systems are studied using both E&amp; L boards and computer simulation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sketching Unit 3\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nPupils progress to sketching objects in 1 and 2 point perspective. More complex objects are rendered.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CAD Unit 2\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nAutoCAD is used to produce Orthographic and Isometric drawings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CAD Unit 3<\/strong><br \/>\nPupils use a various packages to produce posters that present their ideas or solutions to given problems.
