We went to Mid Yell to watch the Shetland Youth Wind Band on Thursday the 13th of March. We went at 10.30 on a bus, We got there at 11.00; the concert was being held in the Leisure Centre \u00a0where we usually go for P.E. every Thursday. When we got there we got to watch the SYWB (Shetland Youth Wind Band) practice before the concert started.<\/span><\/p>\n

We were the only school that had arrived at the time, so a couple of musicians from the band came across to show us their instruments, we got to try and play the saxophone, flute, piccolo and a clarinet. Only Kerry made a sound on all the instruments. When other schools came pouring in. The musicians from the band went over to them and do the same thing is they did with us.<\/span><\/p>\n

When all of the schools had come in the band sat down in their places and got ready to start playing their instruments. They played The Great Escape, The Muppet Show Theme Tune, \u00a0Spongebob Squarepants and Mission Impossible. When they played Spongebob Squarepants everyone in the joined in singing the chorus! It was great fun! The conductor asked us questions about the instrument groups that were in the orchestra. She asked us about the brass group and what instruments were in it. We all loved watching it them perform!<\/span><\/p>\n
