{"id":3407,"date":"2018-02-16T16:01:51","date_gmt":"2018-02-16T15:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/AithPrimaryDepartment\/?p=3407"},"modified":"2018-02-16T16:02:24","modified_gmt":"2018-02-16T15:02:24","slug":"primary-1-learning-blog-week-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/AithPrimaryDepartment\/2018\/02\/16\/primary-1-learning-blog-week-6\/","title":{"rendered":"PRIMARY 1 LEARNING (B)LOG &#8211; WEEK 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 1 we have learned about teddy bears.\u00a0 Paddington Bear came all the way from Peru to Shetland and is going to stay with each of us for 2 nights and hopefully have lots of fun adventures.<\/p>\n<p>We wrote about our favourite toy and carefully chose the right coloured paint to paint a picture of the toy.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rose was in class on Tuesday and made wind powered toys with us.<\/p>\n<p>We have been\u00a0thinking about \u00a0numbers to 20 and also using a number line for addition.<\/p>\n<p>We got our first <em>blended<\/em> phonic &#8216;sh&#8217; and have been thinking about things that have that sound in it and also practising writing it.<\/p>\n<p>We have had a number of visitors this week.\u00a0 Sami who is a French teacher came in to see us on Monday, Mr Lei was in on Wednesday telling us all about the Chinese New Year and told us a story about the animals in the Chinese zodiac.\u00a0 Then\u00a0finally, on Wednesday we were really lucky to meet Mrs Simpson who was the first female Guizer Jarl in Shetland and came in to show us her suit and show us lots of photos from her Up Helly Aa.\u00a0 We all really enjoyed meeting her.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sh\/ajhsnursery\/files\/2018\/02\/IMG_11531-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 1 we have learned about teddy bears.\u00a0 Paddington Bear came all the way from Peru to Shetland and is going to stay with each of us for 2 nights and hopefully have lots of fun adventures.
