E.L.C

We are incredibly proud of our ELC (nursery) setting. We opened in 2019 to serve the catchment of Yetholm and surrounding area- the great thing with ELC rules is that anyone can join, not just the children of families living in this area.

As a setting we are registered to accept eligible 2 year olds- if you think that you might be eligible then please check the Scottish Borders Council website.

In our last Care Inspectorate visit our setting was awarded 5’s (very good) in all areas inspected- a huge accomplishment that reflects the hard work and effort that we all put in to ensure our ELC is the best it can be.

Working with families and the community is important to us- we believe that it helps children develop fundamental skills for learning and life as well as building a sense of place. Taking learning out into the community helps develop many skills including communication so if you see us out and about please do say hi!

As of April 2025 our ELC is under threat of being “mothballed” due to low enrolment meaning that running costs have been deemed too high by SBC. If there are any families out there who are looking for an ELC place please get in touch with us to arrange a visit, or visit the enrolment page on the SBC website to apply directly. Please also check social media for more information about how to join the community events to support our campaign to remain open!

Having a smaller number of children means we get to do loads of fun things, get outside into the village and community almost daily, go on trips almost termly, and simply to spend time on high quality interactions that help boost your child.
