MacMillan coffee morning

On Friday the 20th of September Sprouston Primary School had a Macmillan coffee morning, which was held by P1-4. Macmillan is a charity that raises funds to research possible cures for cancer.

The school was buzzing with people. P1-4 invited the Friday club (a club for older people), P5-7 and mums and dads. Loads of parents and older people came and it was busy. P1-4 were selling cakes, coffee and tea to help Macmillan. There were more than just cakes, there were games!! One of them was guess how many sweets there were in the jar and there was a raffle which had some good prizes. I was lucky to win one.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that came to the Macmillan coffee morning and helped us raise £271.04. We were delighted to see you all there.

Countryside day

P5 went to the Countryside day on Tuesday 21st may at B.E.C (Borders Events Centre). We got a bus to get there. I liked the machinery because of the cool things they do to the farm. I also liked the mini horse and foal called Fallabella’s. Finally I liked stroking the chicks and the duckling. They were so cute and fussy.

Thank you to the organisers, Charlie McCirrick and also to Hogarth’s Mill for the Countryside Day and for making my day the best day ever.

John Byrne competition

In March P5 and 6 entered the John Byrne competition. We had to draw a picture that was not too hard or too easy. First we practised on a sticky note, next we done it for real then we added detail. We used crosshatching to shade it.

I felt really proud of my work and I wish I won the competition.
