A fantastic day was had when we all went to farm to fork at the Hirsel 2 weeks ago. We went to find about how to do mapping and orienteering which we had never done before.
In orienteering we had to follow clues which were numbered. They were placed all around the Hirsel and we found them by the number on a map. We had to use our skills to follow the map in order. I worked with my favourite partner Rory and we won! We also made banana and choc chip muffins using fair trade ingredients. Sally and Jane asked us to try and use fair trade products. I loved playing in the park especially the seesaw and the swings. The rockers felt like a Bucking Bronco.
Thanks to Sally and Jane for a memorable day at the Hirsel. My favourite part was searching for clues in orienteering.
P5 Countryside Day
On Tuesday the 21st of May, Primary 5 went to the Borders Event Centre. It was exiting to see Charlie McCririck. I enjoyed talking to him about the combine. I found out that the New Holland combine costs £450,000! I also enjoyed talking to Pete about the bale rapper. I really enjoyed the free ice cream. It was really tasty but unfortunately we only got one scoop! We went to a fake cow with screwed on udders and milked it. It was weird!
Thank you to all the organisers for setting all of it up.

The whole school went once a week for a swimming lesson. We went on a Tuesday to Kelso Swimming Pool. Those who can swim were in the deep end those who could not swim were in the shallow end. Each group had a leader who taught us new things.
It was very enjoyable experience.
