Farm Visit to Kersquarter

Nursery to P7 went to visit Kersquarter Farm. We walked up a steep hill get to the farm and met the farm owners Mrs and Mr Church.  We saw hens, cows, moorhens in the pond we also got to sit in an old tractor. After seeing the horses we went to see the hens in the hen house. A hen jumped out and hit me in the leg when we fed them. I learned the difference between cows and heifers, that five hens would lay more that 1800 eggs in a year and that you can’t plant the same crop in a field every year (except wheat which you can grow for two years in a row). I also saw my mum who was going to ride her horse which was lovely. After a long fun day at the farm we sadly had to go back to school.

Thank you Mrs and Mr Church and to Robert.
