Countryside Day

On Tuesday the 21st of May all the Sprouston P5s went to the Border Events Centre to attend the border schools Countryside Day. There were many schools from throughout the Borders.

There was lots of machinery which was very expensive. My favourite piece of machinery was the big combine which was worth £450,000. It was a New Holland it was also bright yellow and was very loud. At the countryside day I also saw my Dad. He was there with a group from Edenside Primary School. I got to speak to him. It was nice to see him. We had the chance to make butter. We got given a pot full of cream. Then we shook it around until it turned into butter. We also tasted the butter on crackers. I really enjoyed it. I wish I could drive the combine.

Thank you to the organisers and Hogarth’s mill for explaining how to make oats.
