{"id":3119,"date":"2026-03-11T09:59:55","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T09:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/professionallearning\/?p=3119"},"modified":"2026-04-02T09:57:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T08:57:46","slug":"massage-in-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/professionallearning\/2026\/03\/11\/massage-in-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Massage in Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are organising training for the third SBC cohort of the Massage in Schools programme.<\/p>\n<p>It has strong, evidence-based outcomes including reductions in negative physical touch behaviours and is widely used across Scotland and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feedback from schools in the Borders already using this has been very positive.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Target Audience:<\/strong> Pupil Support \/ Support for Learning \/ASN \/ Nurture staff <span style=\"color: #ffffff\">iw<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Dates:<\/strong> It will be delivered over two days on Fri 18\u00a0<strong>and <\/strong>Mon 21 of September 2026. Attendance at <strong>both days<\/strong> is required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Venue<\/strong>: Roxburgh Suite, Council Headquarters<\/p>\n<p><strong>TO BOOK &#8211;<\/strong> sign up via Business World<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will be <strong>expected to<\/strong> <strong>deliver this program<\/strong> in schools and will be licensed to deliver this program for life after completion of the course.<\/p>\n<p>Potential attendees should be aware that the training does involve direct, positive, physical contact before they agree to attend or participate<\/p>\n<p>This programme can be delivered<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for targeted groups<\/li>\n<li>as a modelled whole class offer. In this instance the class teacher will be expected to continue with delivery after the programme has been delivered to their class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are 20 places available &#8211; first 10 spaces are free of charge to schools \/ settings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are organising training for the third SBC cohort of the Massage in Schools programme.
