This training has been put in place to support staff following a Child Protection Learning Review and should be prioritised for staff to attend.<\/p>\n<p>NHS Health Improvement Team are partially funding this two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid for SBC education staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12<sup>th<\/sup> and 13<sup>th<\/sup> May 2026, 8:50am \u2013 5pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An ASIST trained caregiver, will be better able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify people who have thoughts of suicide, reach out and offer support<\/li>\n<li>Seek a shared understanding of the reasons for thoughts of suicide<\/li>\n<li>Apply a suicide intervention model<\/li>\n<li>Review current risk and develop a plan to increase safety from suicidal behaviour<\/li>\n<li>Link people with community resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each school has been allocated 3 places and we would be grateful if you could email <a href=\"mailto:CLPL@scotborders.gov.uk\">CLPL@scotborders.gov.uk<\/a> with attendees for your school now.
