Young people spend time at school and get training with an employer and with a local learning provider.<\/p>\n<p>In general they are suited to pupils who:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1649 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154715\/nursery4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"321\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154715\/nursery4.jpg 1185w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154715\/nursery4-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154715\/nursery4-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154715\/nursery4-768x574.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 321px) 100vw, 321px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are capable of working at SCQF Level 6 \u2013 the same level of learning as a Higher<\/li>\n<li>Want to try an alternative way to learn, not just in the classroom<\/li>\n<li>Have an interest in developing greater awareness of working with young children with an aspiration of pursuing a career in that area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Modern Apprenticeship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SBC recruit annually for MAs in Early Years and Childcare.<\/p>\n<p>Essential Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>4 National 5s (or equivalent), one of which should be English<\/p>\n<p>A numeracy qualification to at least Nat 4 level or equivalent<\/p>\n<p>Ability to use initiative to support own learning<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1650 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154724\/nursery5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154724\/nursery5.jpg 338w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/professionallearning\/uploads\/sites\/3822\/2024\/07\/29154724\/nursery5-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The applicant must evidence their ability to achieve a SCQF 7 Social Services (Children and Young People) within the period of the MA contract.\u00a0 This is a requirement of this post.<\/p>\n<p>All successful applicants will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of appointment and maintain registration throughout the period of employment.<\/p>\n<p>Desirable &#8211; one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NC Early Education and Childcare<\/li>\n<li>NC Childcare and Development<\/li>\n<li>Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services and Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Foundation Apprenticeship in Children and Young People<\/li>\n<li>1 Higher (or equivalent) at grade C or above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Other routes into a career in Early Learning in Childcare are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete a course (with work based practice) and then apply for a job.
