Every year we discuss a wide range of issues \u2013 and try our best to resolve them. <strong><strong>This is your chance to step into the shoes of world leaders, and make your voice heard on the issues that matter. <\/strong><\/strong>You can read lots more about Model U.N. and how it works by dowloading our Model U.N. guide <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/peebleshsvoluntarycurriculum\/model-united-nations\/model-un-about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-46\">here.<\/a><\/div>\n<h2>What topics does Model U.N. talk about?<\/h2>\n<div>Some of the topics we have looked at in the last year include:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about <em>Afghanistan<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about <em>Ukraine<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about<em> Security Council Reform<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about I<em>ndigenous Rights<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about <em>Drones<\/em>?<\/li>\n<li>What should the U.N. do about <em>Water Scarcity<\/em>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>When does Model U.N. meet?<\/h2>\n<p>We meet every other Thursday in the <b>Assembly Hall <\/b>&#8211; check the bulletin for details of our next debate.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Who runs Model U.N.?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Model U.N. is organised by an elected committee of students. The current committee members for 2022\/23 are:<br \/>\nSecretary General: Kieran Fulton (S5)<br \/>\nDeputy Secretary General: Maria Fraser (S4)<br \/>\nAran Clark (S2)<br \/>\nJason Claridge (S4)<br \/>\nOwen Clotworthy (S2)<br \/>\nHamish Palmer (S5)<br \/>\nDuncan Peppe (S4)<br \/>\nOwen Quayle (S4)<br \/>\nCharlie Wood (S4)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr McMordie<\/strong> supports these students in his role as Model U.N. Convenor.<\/p>\n<h2>Are there other trips or opportunities with Model U.N.?<\/h2>\n<div>We hold Model U.N. conferences in school twice a year and we took part in our first Model U.N. conference outside PHS in 2023.
