The SfL Department recognises that our young people need go beyond subject knowledge and academic skills, and include a wide range of other abilities that help in the world of work and in everyday life.
The courses we offer through our Wider Achievement support strand provide opportunities for pupils to:
- develop self-confidence and self-belief in what they can achieve
- improve the ‘soft skills’ involved in communication and team working
- gain transferable employability skills
We work in close partnership with other providers, such as Community Learning and Development, Skills Development Scotland, and DYW Borders; as well as the emergency services.
