We were delighted to welcome our Enhanced Provision pupils back into the heart of Peebles High School in August 2021.

Pupils accessing Enhanced Provision have a bespoke, sensory-based curriculum; and in the senior phase also have the opportunity to undertake qualifications at SCQF level 1.

These qualifications include the Personal Achievement Award, which is designed to develop pupils’ ability to communicate and respond to others as well as their independence.

The Personal Achievement Award has two themes:
♦ Developing Independence
♦ Taking Part in the Community

In addition, pupils may undertake stand-alone units which build on the broad general education offered in S1 to S3. This enables them to work towards qualifications that are appropriate to their needs and which provide opportunities for personalised approaches to learning and assessment. These may include:

• Communication
• Independent living skills
• Number skills
• Science in the Environment
• Social Subjects
